Week 03 - 3D Design

The group exercise this week is to design a form of eco-friendly personal transport using the concept of REDUCE (from John Maeda's "Laws of Simplicity"). The balloon bicycle is off - limits! Creating a catchy brand name is an important part of this exercise too.

The practical is then for individual students to draft 3 design options on the groups chosen design.

Addressing criteria like function / materials / style for design variations or options is what you should be outlining in your Visual Diary and blog. In line with you taking on more freedom in your creativity, you can choose any 3 criteria for the design options.

Address these clearly so you can develop the ability to clarify and distill your thoughts. This type of focus is what sorts the sheep from the goats in the design world. Keep it simple - make it clear.

Once again - 3 catchy brand names should tell your market exactly what is so great about your design. If you want to add a tagline to the brand name - even better!
